Can I ride with my child? While we do believe it is best that parents not join the rides to keep them flowing and youth focused we do allow parents to ride behind the group if they wish. However all parents MUST also join the All Wheels Cycling Club. This is due to our insurance with the Ontario Cycling Association.
What type of bike is best? A properly fitting mountain bike with at least 1 hand brake. Bikes must be in good working order. This will ensure we can spend as much time on the trail as possible. We recommend having your local bike shop take a look at it before coming out the first evening to ensure its in safe working order.
Why do we need to pay an extra $36 dollars? This extra $36 goes to cover Ontario Cycling Association Insurance. This insurance covers everyone riders, leaders, and the club. You only need to pay this once per rider per year so if your child does any racing like at Hardwood Ski and Bike or riding with another OCA affiliated club this is the same insurance.
Is this a race series? - NO this is a fun non - competitive mountain bike ride for kids
Who are the ride leaders? The ride leaders are members of the All Wheels Cycling club, all leaders are familiar with the trail systems we will be using. Our ride leaders are masters cyclists, local coaches, community members and local athletes.
